Interviews with Psi Chi Officers & Members!
How has Psi Chi impacted you?
" Psi Chi has had a profound impact on me, primarily by providing a platform to forge meaningful bonds with other members. Ever since the first meeting I attended for Psi Chi, I felt that I was around people who had similar interests to me and shared a passion for psychology. Now, after being in the club since the start of fall quarter, I have become great friends with both officers and members of the club. Despite coming to UCLA as a freshman this academic year, not knowing many people in this large school, these connections I have formed through Psi Chi have provided a supportive network of peers with whom I can collaborate, exchange ideas, and seek advice. Beyond the social aspect, I actively look forward to Psi Chi’s weekly meetings, so that I can learn more about the world of psychology. I particularly love when guest speakers from different fields and professions related to psychology come to talk about their job and how their psychology degree helped them get there. " - Gareth, Member since Fall 2023 "Psi Chi has introduced me to a lot of new people who became good friends. As a transfer, it was kinda hard at first since everyone already knew each other. " - Reese, Member since Fall 2023 |
Officer Advice for Members!
" Come to the meetings! Take advantage of the fact that the people you will meet might have the same major and career prospects as you! Who knows, maybe you could learn something from them too! It’s also great to have friends when planning out your Psych classes" - Claire, Social Media Manager "Join a lot of diverse clubs and communities to decide which community or people you fit well with, and focus on them.” - Irene, Internal Communication Director |
